The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with proven expertise in bid management for large, complex infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal in driving ElectraNet's strategic growth by leading the identification, development, and pursuit of contestable opportunities in a highly competitive market.

You Will

  • Lead the end-to-end bid lifecycle for major projects, from opportunity identification through to contract execution.
  • Develop and implement bid strategies aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory frameworks.
  • Assemble and manage multi-disciplinary bid teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery of submissions.
  • Translate complex technical solutions into commercially compelling proposals.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, clients, and partners to negotiate and secure high-value contracts.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker who thrives in complex environments and can influence outcomes at the highest level.

About You
You're not just experienced - you're a strategic thinker who thrives on complexity and knows how to turn opportunities into results. You bring a proven track record in bid management for large, multi-faceted projects, where success depends on precision, collaboration, and commercial acumen.

You understand the art and science of winning bids. From shaping strategy and assembling high-performing teams to crafting compelling proposals that resonate with clients, you know how to lead the process end-to-end. Your ability to translate technical solutions into clear, persuasive narratives sets you apart, and you're comfortable navigating the fine balance between risk and reward.

Stakeholder engagement is second nature to you. You build trust quickly, influence decisions at senior levels, and foster relationships that last. You're commercially savvy, financially literate, and confident negotiating complex contracts that deliver value for all parties.

Your Background Includes

  • Significant experience in pre-contracts and bid management, ideally within infrastructure or energy sectors.
  • A deep understanding of the project lifecycle—from concept through delivery—and the ability to anticipate challenges before they arise.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and coordinate cross-functional teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to present ideas with clarity and impact.
  • Tertiary background or qualification in business, finance, engineering and/ or relevant professional certification, i.e. Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or similar.

If you're looking at a full time or part time role that allows you to be part of shaping the future of energy and you have the drive to lead transformative projects, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
