The Opportunity

Yura Yarta is seeking a skilled and proactive Service Electrician to join our expanding electrical team.

As a First Nations-led organisation, we are committed to creating sustainable employment opportunities, growing capability, and delivering quality infrastructure services across Australia. This role offers the chance to work on key service and maintenance projects for major retail and commercial clients, all while contributing to something greater than yourself.

You'll be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and reactive electrical works, with early shift times (typically 3:00am–11:00am or 12:00am–8:00am) to suit commercial access requirements. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously, solving complex problems, and making a meaningful impact in both business and community settings.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform routine testing: quarterly, annual, and 5-year inspections of electrical equipment and appliances
  • RCD testing and replacements
  • Emergency lighting checks and replacements
  • UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) inspections, upgrades, and replacements
  • Generator inspections and basic servicing
  • Thermographic testing of switchboards and distribution panels
  • Inspection and assessment of electrical environments and installations
  • Identify, report, and document faults and maintenance issues
  • Assist with estimating materials and labour for repairs
  • Undertake inspection, testing, and verification in line with Australian standards
  • Occasional remote work during scheduled service periods

What You'll Need:

  • Current SA Electrical Licence
  • Driver's Licence
  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • CPR/LVR Certification
  • Strong communication skills for client and team interactions
  • High attention to safety and compliance standards
  • Sound knowledge of general electrical maintenance procedures
