The opportunity

AEP Engineering, a leading provider of engineering services in Queensland, is seeking an experienced CNC Section Supervisor to join our team in Garbutt, QLD. This is a full-time role where you will play a crucial part in overseeing the CNC machining operations and ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of components.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the CNC machining team, ensuring work is completed to the required standards and within specified timeframes
  • Monitor production processes and implement continuous improvement measures to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Provide technical guidance and support to CNC operators, troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain CNC operating procedures, work instructions and quality control measures
  • Liaise with the Engineering and Production teams to plan and schedule CNC machining workload
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Participate in the recruitment, training and development of CNC operators
  • Prepare relevant reports and KPI tracking for the CNC section

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience (5+ years) in a CNC machining supervisory role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Thorough understanding of CNC machining principles, programming and operations
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate the CNC team
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence
  • Familiarity with quality control systems and procedures
  • Relevant trade qualifications or tertiary qualifications in engineering or manufacturing
