Configuration Management Specialist
Babcock is seeking a talented Configuration Management Specialist to support the JP9101 program, ensuring the integrity and maturity of engineering solutions across the product lifecycle. About You
You're a seasoned professional with around seven years of experience in technical or engineering roles, and you bring a strong foundation in configuration and data management. You're confident using PLM systems like Teamcenter and understand the importance of applying standards such as ISO 10007 and EIA-649C. Your background in Defence or Defence Industry equips you to navigate complex environments with precision and clarity. You're a natural communicator, both written and verbal, and thrive in team settings where collaboration drives success. You're curious, courageous, and committed to delivering outcomes that matter—aligned with Babcock's principles of kindness, ownership, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
Reporting to the Configuration Manager, you'll perform CM and DM activities across the lifecycle of JP9101 products and services. You'll implement processes for planning, identification, control, status accounting, and audit, ensuring alignment with internal governance and external compliance standards. You'll manage configuration baselines, lead technical investigations, and support change management forums such as CCB and ECB. Acting as a subject matter expert, you'll liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and consistency in configuration practices. You'll also contribute to technical documentation, risk assessments, and process improvements, supporting the delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes. This role may involve travel across Australia and internationally, offering a dynamic and impactful career path within a global Defence organisation.
To be successful in this position you will bring;
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines
- Hold a technical/vocational qualification in relevant discipline
- Hold additional training qualifications in CM or DM specialisation
