Expressions of Interest – Workroom Supervisor & Sewers / Machinists (Custom Curtains & Roman Blinds)

Location: Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast, QLD

Business: In Curtains & Blinds – 40+ years serving the Coast

We're seeking expressions of interest from skilled people to join our growing in-house manufacturing team in 2026. Our workroom is centrally located in Maroochydore making it convenient and accessible for local staff.

Full-time, part-time and casual options available.


Workroom Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the workroom
  • Supervise machinists, allocate jobs, and ensure timely production
  • Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all products
  • Liaise with management on workflow planning and process improvements
  • Train, mentor, and support staff in skills and productivity

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a workroom or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of curtain and/or blind making processes
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Excellent communication and team management skills

Curtain Machinists

Responsibilities:

  • Sewing and finishing custom-made curtains
  • Working with a variety of fabrics, including delicate and patterned materials
  • Following detailed workroom specifications for pleats, hems, and joins
  • Ensuring accuracy in measurements, finishes, and quality control

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in sewing curtains or upholstery preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work to deadlines

Roman Blind Machinists

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing high-quality custom Roman blinds to specification
  • Sewing and assembling components including rods, lining, and chains
  • Pattern matching and fabric handling for premium results
  • Quality checking and maintaining consistency across orders

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in Roman blind making or similar soft furnishing work desirable
  • Proficiency in machine sewing and hand finishing
  • Ability to follow patterns and technical instructions accurately
