About the role:

This roles overall purpose within Anglicare Southern Queensland (Anglicare) is to provide quality allied health services to Anglicare clients and actively participate in the Anglicare Allied Health program to promote team work, clinical leadership and the specialist quality service. An
Occupational Therapist - Allied Health Lead - Advanced Practice
will be able to demonstrate significant clinical experience in a wide range of practice areas. This role is a
full-time permanent
position within our
Logan
region. This role is for an experienced
Occupational Therapist
(minimum 5 years professional experience).

  • Independently apply a high standard of clinical and professional knowledge and judgements when performing complex or atypical tasks specific to the focused area of practice including the clinical management of clients in your care.
  • To undertake comprehensive assessments of clients, including those with a complex presentation and develop a collaborative treatment plan with appropriate goals utilising a wide range of clinical skills and knowledge.
  • To organise a designated caseload effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
  • To provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching and instruction to relatives, carers and other professionals to promote understanding of the aims of therapy and to ensure a consistent approach to client care.
  • Actively lead and engage in the development of professional knowledge and skills and have a positive impact on service delivery evidenced by incorporating new trends and developments into your work and updating team members.

Undertake evaluation of clinical work and allied health groups and programmes to ensure they continue to be evidence based and be prepared to make recommendations for change.

About you:

  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge in relevant to focused area of practice within a community setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently apply professional knowledge and judgements when performing complex or atypical tasks specific to focused area of practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a community based multidisciplinary team environment, including the capacity to negotiate with a range of stakeholders, operate flexibly, and have the capacity to problem solve.
  • Demonstrated advanced oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Demonstrated well-developed organisational and planning skills in managing competing priorities in a busy environment to achieve high quality work outcomes.
  • An advanced level understanding of and demonstrated active participation in continuous quality improvement processes in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting and supervising senior clinicians and/or mentoring senor clinicians supervising graduate level practitioners.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree qualification relevant to professional discipline
  • Possession of a current unrestricted Queensland Driver Licence
  • Current registration with AHPRA or other relevant registration body
  • Minimum five years professional experience relevant to area of practice
  • Completed training additional to Bachelor's degree relevant to area of practice
  • Postgraduate qualifications relevant to area of practice (desired)
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the service region
  • Current national police check
