Bakery Retail Assistant – Part-Time

(Minimum 3 days per week – Opening & Closing Shifts Available)

Shifts:

  • Opening: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Closing: 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Bakery Retail Assistant to join our front-of-house team. You'll be the face of our bakery—welcoming customers, preparing coffee and sandwiches, handling transactions, restocking displays, and keeping the shop clean and inviting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve customers in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Prepare and serve coffee, toasties, and pies.
  • Provide product information and assist with customer selections
  • Operate the cash register and EFTPOS machine accurately
  • Keep display shelves stocked, clean, and visually appealing
  • Package and label products as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front counter and customer areas
  • Follow food handling and safety guidelines

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable slicing breads, heating up pies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic cash handling or POS experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Punctual, responsible, and well-presented
  • Must be available for at least 3 shifts per week (including opening or closing shifts)
