About The Role
As a Senior Insurance Specialist – Trustee Review at Australian Retirement Trust, you'll play a key role in coaching and uplifting a team of Insurance Specialist's, reviewing and providing guidance on complex insurance claims, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for our members. You'll provide expert advice to the Trustee Review team and the broader business, manage challenging claims and complaints, and drive continuous improvement in our processes. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on mentoring others, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about delivering outstanding member experiences.

Day To Day, You'll

  • Coach and mentor team members to uplift capability and ensure consistent, high-quality claims reviews.
  • Peer review submissions and support staff in obtaining and maintaining individual delegated authority.
  • Review and manage complex insurance claims, including those involving litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct ongoing quality checks and portfolio reviews to ensure claims are managed in line with policy and best practice.
  • Guide team members in resolving complaints and escalations fairly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with insurance partners to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of onboarding and training programs.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis of data to support continuous improvement.

This role is a permanent opportunity based in either Brisbane or Melbourne.
About You
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you'll tick some of the following boxes too.

  • ASFA100 or RG146 superannuation compliance (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in insurance claims assessment and review within the superannuation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to insurance and superannuation.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and uplift team capability.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and negotiation skills, including experience with external parties.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and dispute resolution abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports and recommendations.
  • Experience managing complex claims, including those involving litigation or dispute resolution.
  • Ability to provide clear technical advice to both legal and non-legal audiences.
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service and driving continuous improvement.
