About the role:

The Technology Operations team is currently seeking a Supervisor, Technology Operations Centre (TOC) to join them on a 8:6 roster based at Perth for a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. The TOC 24/7 Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the stability and reliability of technology services that underpin mining operations.

Reporting to the Manager Technology Operations, you will oversee the efficient operation of the Technology Operations Centre, ensuring that technology services meet the high‑availability demands of a fast‑paced mining environment. This position calls for strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proven operational background — ideally in mining, heavy industry, or other mission‑critical environments.

You will thrive in high‑pressure, time‑sensitive situations, making confident, well‑informed decisions that keep critical systems running smoothly. The role demands operational urgency, with a focus on proactive incident management, rapid resolution, and maintaining strong, continuous communication with stakeholders to minimise downtime and protect production.

This position is responsible for leading a team of x3 TOC Analysts and x1 Rail Systems Analyst.

Duties:

  • Provide leadership for TOC analysts and ensure 24/7 coverage for monitoring, incident response, and operational support.
  • Lead with an operational mindset, ensuring swift, decisive action in response to incidents that impact production or safety.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures.
  • Act as Major Incident Manager (central point of contact) for technology-related incidents, driving rapid resolution under time‑critical conditions.
  • Forge strong relationships through collaborative and transparent engagement with stakeholders, to provide timely updates on incidents and increase effectiveness of TOC to minimise service interruption occurrences.
  • Lead & Develop TOC 24x7 to ensure proactive service monitoring and response to support high availability and performance of critical operational technology.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in line with Hancock Iron Ore technology processes, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records in ServiceNow.
  • Identify opportunities and improvement initiatives for Technology processes, tools, and TOC performance.
  • Provide feedback and contribute to the development and refinement of operational procedures.
  • Drive a culture of continuous process improvement, ensuring the TOC evolves to meet changing business and technology needs.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven operational background in mining, or other mission‑critical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with operational urgency, making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in leading and developing a technical team including overseeing people performance.
  • Experience working with Service Management and ITSM Tools
  • Experience in mining software solutions
  • Experience in Remote Technology Operations
