Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the buildings and grounds of the College are cleaned to a high standard.

About the position

This position works across both campuses, and reports directly to the Cleaning Supervisor.

The key responsibilities of this position are:

  • Empty all rubbish bins and remove rubbish to a collection point, replace bin liners.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas and mop hard surfaced floors to remove stains or spillages.
  • Dust surfaces, including bench tops, window ledges, counters and furnishings.
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks and basins and wash floors in toilet facilities.
  • Replace hand towels, soap and toilet paper when needed.
  • Clean and polish mirrors.
  • Spot clean partition glass and marks or stains on doors and door frames.
  • Clean fans and light fittings as and when required.
  • Remove any cobwebs.
  • Clean behind fridges and stoves.
  • Perform similar duties as requested by the Cleaning Supervisor or Property Manager.

All these tasks should be undertaken within the Health and Safety policies and procedures established for the College.

Requirements of the position

The requirements of this position are:

  • Experience in commercial cleaning, particularly in a school environment (desirable)
  • Some knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • A positive attitude and able to work well as part of a team.

Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Blue Card before commencing employment with the College. Applicants must have a practising Christian faith and be actively involved in a church.

Position hours and salary

Cleaning shifts are available Monday to Friday and are 3 hours in length (3pm – 6pm).
