Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will work both on-site and in-shop, assisting with carpentry and joinery tasks that support our fabrication and installation work. You'll collaborate closely with our fabrication and installation teams to ensure quality and timely delivery across a range of projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings and specifications to plan required materials, measurements, and installation steps
  • Source, select, and prepare timber and other materials for projects
  • Measure, cut, and assemble components, securing parts accurately
  • Construct frameworks, panel systems, roof structures, sub-flooring, and floorboards, ensuring structures are level and true
  • Install fascia boards, roof sheathing, exterior cladding, and door and window frames
  • Assemble wood components into structures and fittings ready for installation
  • Form and cut wood joints for various assemblies
  • Occasionally build concrete formwork
  • Carry out repairs to existing wooden fittings as needed
  • Work with alternative materials such as laminates, perspex, and metal when required

Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality craftsmanship
  • Good physical fitness and willingness to work on-site and in variable conditions
  • Understanding of safe work practices and ability to follow WHS procedures
