Position Overview

A carpenter at Improvision Group would focus on crafting bespoke furniture, installing custom millwork, and executing intricate woodworking projects. They would collaborate with designers to create unique built-ins, architectural details, and specialty wood features while maintaining the company's reputation for precision and artistic flair in luxury home improvements.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Interpret and execute complex architectural drawings and 3D renderings for custom millwork and builtin features.
  • Plan and calculate material requirements for bespoke cabinetry and architectural elements.
  • Craft and install custom furniture pieces, including integrated storage solutions and statement pieces.
  • Construct and install refined interior frameworks, including detailed crown moulding, wainscoting, and custom trim work.
  • Create and fit precise joinery for high-end cabinetry and custom doors.
  • Install premium-grade architectural elements including custom window casings and door frames.
  • Fabricate and assemble sophisticated built-in units and custom storage solutions.
  • Construct specialty display units and custom shelving systems.
  • Collaborate with designers on unique material applications, including specialty veneers and premium finishes.
  • Perform detailed restoration work on heritage architectural features.
  • Work with various premium materials including exotic woods, high-end laminates, and architectural metals.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Holds a Certificate III in Carpentry or higher qualification.
  • Minimum one year of experience in the field of carpentry.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with construction workers ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to project goals.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols to ensure safe working environment, minimizing risks for oneself and others on the site.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and other tradespeople, ensuring that expectations are clear and any adjustments are communicated promptly.
  • Ability to identify and address challenges encountered during carpentry work, ensuring that all projects meet high-quality standards and are completed efficiently.
  • Attention to details to ensure precise measurements, cuts, fittings, ensuring a high level of accuracy and quality in the finished product.
