SDE is a boutique Structural Engineering firm that has been serving Perth Builders and Architects for the last decade, having a portfolio in excess of 3000 jobs ranging from residential (single storey homes, major renovations/additions and customised multi-storey luxury homes) to commercial (warehouse/office and large commercial/industrial projects).

We deliver cost effective solutions and quality design without compromise and bear in mind the most suitable/preferred method of construction for the client. We liaise closely with the client and discuss options & costs to make the project work within their budget and time frame.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Proficient in using Autocad for drafting Residential and Commercial/Tilt-up Panel structures. Involves drafting layouts, design drafting, final detail drafting, liaising with clients and keeping job files/documentation system and library up to date & tidy.
  • Produce accurate drawings. Must have an excellent eye for detail.
  • Need to have excellent time management skills and be able to organise workflow such that the jobs go out by the due date.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain client relationships, keeping clients updated on the progress of the job and answering any of their queries.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office
  • Additional tasks can also be offered such as: General structural/compliance inspections Site classification inspections and reports Suspended slab reinforcement inspections De-propping inspections Renovation/alteration/addition inspections Compaction testing Dilapidation inspections and reports Experience in these are not essential, but would be highly regarded.  Training can be provided.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
