THE ROLE:
We currently require casual Mental Health & Disability Support Workers available for Supported Independent Living & Community clients based in Toowoomba and surrounding areas.
This role will involve:
- Building and maintaining trusting and meaningful working relationships with our clients, their circle of support and the community.
- Assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating plans that enable our clients to set and achieve personal goals.
- Facilitating community inclusion and participation and supporting our clients to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues, and services.
- Encouraging positive and socially appropriate behaviour and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
- Providing personal care where required and personalised support in accordance with the personal plan.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have a passion for working with people with disabilities with an understanding and commitment to a person-centered model of practice.
Previous experience in and knowledge of the disability services industry and an ability to work flexible hours, with a willingness to work a range of shifts, with a variety of clients is a must.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Cert III Disability (or working towards), or experience in Disability Support (or working towards)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate. (Or willing to obtain)
- Experience with Manual Handling. (or working towards)
- Reliable transportation for Community Access & Participation.
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
- Queensland Provisional or above Driver's Licence.
- Current Paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card). (Or willing to obtain)
- Current Paid NDIS Workers Screening Card (Yellow Card). (Or willing to obtain)
