Our Workplace Relations Advisor will support the delivery of Wilmar Sugar & Renewables' Workplace Relations (WR) strategy across multiple sites, providing practical and timely advice to leaders and employees. This role is ideal for someone with strong HR or IR experience looking to build deeper technical expertise in workplace relations within a large, complex organisation. Working under the guidance of the Workplace Relations Manager, you'll assist with the resolution of employee relations matters, the application of industrial instruments, and the coordination of consultation and negotiation activities involving union representatives and site management teams.

Your responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Provide advice and support to managers and employees on workplace relations matters, including award and agreement interpretation, performance management, and dispute resolution
  • Assist in managing grievances, investigations, and disciplinary processes in line with company procedures and legislative requirements
  • Support the preparation of correspondence, reports, and documentation for workplace relations cases and meetings
  • Contribute to consultation and negotiation activities with employee representatives and unions
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring consistency with legal and procedural standards
  • Monitor developments in workplace relations and assist in implementing policy or procedural updates as required

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A foundational understanding of workplace relations, industrial awards, and relevant employment legislation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and influence at all levels
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working in a HR, IR, or operational environment (experience in construction, mining, or heavy industry will be highly regarded)
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain professionalism in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative approach and genuine interest in developing deeper workplace relations capability
