Family Education and Support Worker

  • Part-time Permanent role (Approximately 30 hours per week)
  • $36.73 per hour + superannuation
  • Great work-life blalance - Flexible working options available

Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of children and families in our community?
We're seeking a compassionate and motivated Family Education and Support Worker to join our Early Years and Family Services team. In this role, you'll provide personalised support to families in their homes, helping children thrive in early learning and giving parents the tools and confidence to navigate services.

  • Support families in their homes Using best-practice interventions, and drawing on your expertise, the facilitator will spend time with families in the home environment, to increase parents and caregivers confidence to support learning and development whilst strengthening positive habits and behaviours through role modelling, observation and the development of specific in-home learning activities – tailored to each child and family's needs.
  • Guide families through the service system Many families find navigating early years services confusing. You'll be the proficient facilitator who supports them by drawing on your expertise to source and share materials and activities with families, so they are able to successfully transition into kindergarten, assisting families and educators in the ECEC services to overcome any barriers to participation.
  • Work alongside educators Beyond the home visits, you'll build strong partnerships with kindergarten teachers and early childhood educators, sharing insights from home visits so learning continues seamlessly between home and the classroom.
  • Encourage participation in education This role works to help families see the value of consistent early learning by regular attendance at, and participation in, Kindergarten sessions. Over time, you'll see children grow in confidence, friendships, and skills.
  • Develop meaningful family plans Together with parents, you'll set achievable goals that make a real difference — from establishing routines to improving school readiness — and track progress so families can celebrate how far they've come.
  • Balance case work with reporting While much of your day is spent face-to-face with families, you'll also keep records, track data, and report outcomes. This ensures the program continues to deliver measurable, lasting benefits to children and the community.
