We have a new opportunity available for a Maintenance Manager to join our Opal Fibre Packaging site in Barnawartha, VIC.

In this role you will manage the Engineering and Maintenance functions and teams to ensure plant and equipment is maintained to perform at optimum levels to achieve safe, efficient and effective manufacturing of quality corrugated packaging products.

Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will contribute to the success of Opal by;

  • Working with your teams to foster a positive and collaborative team-based culture around proactive and reactive engineering and maintenance work
  • Leading and mentoring your teams to have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Reviewing ongoing costs around projects and labour
  • Ensuring a constant and ongoing focus on positive safety behaviours and outcomes

Specifically, for this role, we expect you will have;

  • At least 5 years previous experience in engineering management / maintenance planning / asset management
  • Trade qualifications in either electrical or mechanical engineering or a degree in engineering
  • Experience in managing and leading a team towards successful achievement of optimum reliability outcomes
  • Experience in staff performance management, including counselling and disciplinary process
  • Advanced skills with computerised management software and other computer software (Word, Excel and SAP)
  • Well developed communication and relationship management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of key internal and external stakeholders at all levels
