Mechanical Engineering Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our engineering and manufacturing team. The successful candidate will apply advanced technical knowledge to support product development, process improvement, CNC operations, and mechanical related design tasks.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and interpret technical drawings, 3D models, and schematics for use in production and fabrication.
· Operate and oversee CNC machinery, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accordance with design requirements.
· Apply engineering principles to resolve production issues and improve design processes.
· Use software such as TouchCut, PrimeCut, and Bystronic for nesting and part development.
· Collaborate with engineers and workshop teams to translate conceptual plans into practical execution.
· Monitor, evaluate, and document testing and production results to refine technical solutions.
· Ensure compliance with safety and quality assurance standards.
· Assist in materials planning, estimating, and workflow optimization.
· Contribute to technical documentation and reporting.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or Diploma of Engineering – Technical or related.
· Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
· Familiarity with Australian standards.
· Prior experience with project coordination or workflow scheduling.
· Forklift License is advantageous.
· Overhead crane operation experience is desirable.
· Physical fitness, technical aptitude, attention to detail, and teamwork are key.
