Centrepoint Tamworth shopping centre is a vibrant retail and entertainment precinct located on Peel St in the heart of Tamworth's CBD, offering customers a wide range of food, fashion, homewares and general retailing along with Tamworth's only entertainment precinct.

It is home to exclusive brands such as Rebel, JB Hi-Fi, Bed Bath'N Table, Blue Illusion, Prouds, Sportscraft, Sussan, Mathers, House, Donut King and Subway, as well as Forum 6 Cinema, the Capitol Theatre and Tamworth Tenpins & More.

We are looking for a Cleaner to join our small but busy team of cleaning professionals.

The Role:

As a Cleaner your role is to perform the duties required of a shopping centre cleaner ensuring all areas of the Centre are kept clean to a high standard, to maintain the presentation of the Centre as a best-in-class retail premises.

General cleaning duties include, but not limited to:

  • Cleaning of all areas both common and back of house, all surfaces and furniture as well as machine cleaning of the floors.
  • Detailed clean of the toilets, attending to toilet blockages and managing toilet supplies.
  • Removal of general rubbish and recycling and managing the bin room.
  • Spot cleaning and attending to spills and other health and safety risks.
  • Cleaning of the car park and attending to issues with the boom gate.
  • Supervising the Centre while performing cleaning duties.
  • Managing keys and providing trades people access to areas of the Centre where required.
  • Providing first aid in the event of an incident and participating in emergency response and evacuation procedures.

About you:

We are looking for someone who is available to work both morning and night shifts during the week and of a weekend. Award rate loadings will apply.

Ideally you will have previous experience as a cleaner in a retail or event environment.

You must be trustworthy and reliable, comfortable with working alone and comfortable acting as the onsite supervisor when Centre Management is closed.

Strong attention to detail, diligent in completing the full scope of duties required for each shift as well as proactive in identifying extras that need doing.

Be first aid accredited or willing to undergo first aid training and confident in responding to various incidents that may occur.

Have good customer service skills and demonstrate a desire to address customer needs.
