
Technical Sales Manager

We are seeking a technically skilled and motivated Technical Sales Support professional to
join the team. This internal role is pivotal to supporting both our sales and aftersales teams,
providing expert technical knowledge to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
You will be the go-to technical resource for internal staff and customers, playing a key role
in quoting, proposals, troubleshooting, and customer engagement across all aspects of
industrial engineering product and services. Applicant should be well connected in the mining and building sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the sales team by providing technical input for quotes, proposals, and
customer inquiries.
- Deliver frontline support to customers, including technical guidance, product
selection assistance, and troubleshooting.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and internal departments to ensure accurate
and timely delivery of products, information, and services.
- Coordinate with clients to address pre-sale and after-sales technical queries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales
activities in the CRM system.
- Prepare, update, and manage product documentation, including technical
datasheets and installation manuals.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers to drive repeat
business and long-term partnerships.
Skills & Experience
- Proven Technical Expertise – Over 5 years' field sales experience in the engineering
industry, spanning industrial, agricultural, oil & gas, mining, and construction sectors.
- Business Development Focus – Strong track record in new business generation,
competitor account targeting, and expanding client bases across the WA region.
- Customer-Centric Problem Solving – Adept at providing pre- and post-sales technical
support, tailoring solutions to meet client needs, and building long-term
relationships.
- Commercial Acumen – Skilled in market analysis, price management, and delivering
persuasive presentations to secure new business.
- Technical Knowledge – Deep understanding of engineering services, products, and
LPG solutions, with the ability to translate complex details into clear, actionable
advice.
- Sales Performance – Proven ability to meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales
targets, achieving volume, margin, and product channel objectives.
- Industry Engagement – Experience handling clients from multinational corporations
and maintaining strong networks of industry contacts.
- Administrative & Organisational Skills – Highly proficient in CRM systems, EWS,
quote generation, service management platforms, and Microsoft Office (including
advanced Excel).
- Reporting & Analysis – Skilled in maintaining customer records, competitor
databases, and preparing detailed sales and market performance reports.
- Collaboration & Compliance – Team-oriented, working across departments to
ensure service excellence, compliance with safety standards, and on-time project
delivery.
- Local Knowledge & Mobility – Strong familiarity with the Perth market; valid driver's
licence for field-based work.
