Salary: $81, $94,072.35 per annum + 12% superannuation

Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. Our Customer Service team is seeking a Customer Service Officer.

Purpose:

The customer service officer role is responsible for managing phone calls, logging customer requests, answering customer enquiries as well as maintaining various customer databases.

About the role:

  • Provide quality service by resolving enquiries and requests from external and internal customers
  • Receive and process Council applications, certificates, licences and permits in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Determine applicable fees for services requested in accordance with Council's fees and charges schedule
  • Receive and process daily revenue, issue receipts, undertake banking and perform end of day balancing in an accurate and timely manner
  • Lodge Customer requests in the Customer Request Management system (CRM) ensuring that information is comprehensive and clear.
  • Keep abreast of current issues, projects and events that impact the community to ensure the provision of current and accurate information
  • Maintain and collate daily statistical data as required

About you:

  • A friendly, professional attitude with a focus on first point of contact resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience within a customer service environment, including face to face counter and call centre operations
  • Experience in cash handling
  • Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Competent conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment under tight time constraints to achieve deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to use a number of windows-based software packages
