The Opportunity

We're looking for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join our growing team in Perth. You'll be aligned with one of QED's key service streams based on your experience and interests:

  • Hazardous Materials Management – conduct inspections, risk assessments and clearance inspections that protect people and property.
  • Air, Water, Chemical Management & Building Rating Systems – assess and improve environmental conditions through sampling, analysis, and compliance advice.

No matter your specialty, you'll work on meaningful projects that directly enhance health, safety and wellbeing in the built environment.

What You'll Do

As a Consultant, you'll:

  • Conduct field inspections, environmental sampling and performance assessments.
  • Analyse data and prepare clear, accurate, and evidence-based technical reports.
  • Provide clients with practical recommendations aligned with legislation and best practice.
  • Build trusted client relationships, listening to their needs, offering tailored solutions, and identifying opportunities to add value through QED's full range of services.
  • Contribute to QED's culture of safety, respect and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to QED's growth by recognising where our expertise can make a difference for clients and communities

As a Senior Consultant, you'll also:

  • Lead projects end-to-end- from scoping and pricing to delivery and reporting.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants.
  • Build trusted client relationships and contribute to business development and service innovation.

About You

You're motivated by meaningful work and enjoy applying science to real-world challenges. You'll bring:

Essential

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or Occupational Hygiene (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years (Consultant) or 5+ years (Senior Consultant) in environmental, occupational hygiene, or hazardous materials consulting.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with hands-on field experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, especially technical report writing.
  • Current driver's licence and ability to travel for site work.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills- you enjoy working with clients to understand their challenges.
  • A proactive mindset with commercial awareness- you can spot opportunities to improve outcomes and expand QED's impact.

Desirable

  • Experience in asbestos assessment, air or water quality management, chemical management or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and environmental health legislation.
  • Asbestos Assessor Licence, BOHS or equivalent accreditation (highly regarded).
