About the Role:

Just Care is seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to assist a client with a spinal cord injury. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with personal care, including stoma care and catheter management, and be comfortable providing both in-home and community support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality personal and domestic support
  • Assist with stoma and catheter care
  • Support client mobility and transfers
  • Drive the client in their 7-seater vehicle for community access and appointments
  • Promote independence, dignity, and choice for the participant

Requirements:

  • Certificate III (or higher) in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent
  • Proven experience working with clients with spinal cord injury
  • Experience in stoma and catheter care (essential)
  • Current driver's licence (Full licence)
  • Must be capable and confident to drive a 7-seater car
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 and flu vaccinations (preferred)

  • Assisting people to perform important daily activities
  • Assisting Clients with personal care, health care and hygiene in areas such as dressing, bathing, toileting and eating.
  • Performing home based tasks such as food preparation and housework duties such as cooking, cleaning and laundry activities.
  • Undertaking tasks outside the home such as shopping
  • Support the health and wellbeing of the Client, such as taking medications or attending medical appointments. Clear instructions should be provided by the Client to enable you to undertake this work.

  • Drop-off and pick-up from school (clients kids)

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $34.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Emerald VIC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Required)
  • Working with Children Check (Required)
  • National Police Certificate (Required)
  • Driver Licence (Required)
