Practice Manager – Surgical Specialist Practice
We are looking for a fantastic person to manage our surgical practice
We truly love our practice. We have worked hard to create not just a place where patients receive excellent surgical care, but also a workplace where our team feels valued and supported. Our goal is simple: to make the patient experience the best it can be, while building a practice where people genuinely enjoy coming to work each day.
We are incredibly proud of the team we've built — they are kind, hardworking, and dedicated — and we are now looking for the right person to step into the leadership of this team. This is an important role, and we want to hand it over to someone who will continue to nurture and guide what we've created.
You will be working alongside four wonderful surgeons and our fantastic sports doctors, who are not only highly skilled, but also a pleasure to work with.
About the role
The Practice Manager oversees the day-to-day administration of the practice — leading the team, supporting patient services, keeping compliance on track, and ensuring our systems and processes run smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Leading, coaching, and supporting the admin team.
· Overseeing patient services and practice operations.
· Managing compliance with Medicare, health funds, WorkCover and other insurers.
· Coordinating practice systems and workflows (experience with Genie is highly desirable).
· Taking responsibility for the practice's administrative oversight, (however, NOT surgical billing, payroll, or end-of-month processing as these duties are out-sourced).
· This role is structured as a four-day week (Monday to Thursday), offering a regular long weekend.
About you
We are looking for someone who is kind, calm, and organised, with the ability to lead by example. You'll have experience in practice management (ideally in a specialist or surgical setting), strong knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing, and the ability to keep our busy practice running smoothly. If you know Genie, we'll be delighted.
Training & Support
You will receive a thorough handover from our current Practice Manager (one of the owners), who is stepping back from the role but will always be available for ongoing support.
