To support during a period of leave cover, we are seeking applications from experienced and collaborative Psychologists to join our Psychology team commencing 19 January 2026 until the end of the 2026 academic year in the capacity of either:

· Psychologist – Minimum 0.4fte (Term time)

· Psychology Team Leader – Minimum 0.6fte upto full time (1.0fte) (Term time)

About the roles

Psychologist

Both roles provide psychological services to students across the College, with a focus on counselling, assessment, and consultation, including:

  • Providing counselling and psychological support to students from ELC to Year 12
  • Consulting with staff and parents regarding student wellbeing and learning needs
  • Supporting crisis intervention and risk management processes
  • Liaising with external professionals and community agencies
  • Assisting with the design and delivery of wellbeing programs and initiatives
  • Maintaining appropriate records and documentation in line with professional and ethical standards

Working as part of a collaborative and highly skilled wellbeing team, the College's Psychologists contribute to a proactive, ethical, and evidence-based approach to student wellbeing.

To be successful in this role, you are an experienced psychologist with a genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of young people in a school setting. You demonstrate sound professional judgement, strong interpersonal skills, and a compassionate, ethical approach to your work.

Psychologist Team Leader

The Psychologist Team Leader combines a student counselling caseload (as above) with leadership and coordination of the Psychology team. This role requires discretion, a high degree of autonomy and a commitment to working closely with other members of the psychology and broader wellbeing teams, supporting students from ELC to year 12.

Key leadership responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of referrals, case allocation, waiting lists and case file management
  • Providing consultation and mentorship to team members regarding complex cases, ethical issues and professional practice
  • Supporting consultation between the team and College leaders, boarding and nursing staff, and external professionals
  • Coordinating professional learning for the team, including risk management and wellbeing-related updates
  • Oversight of resources, budget and administrative processes supporting the Psychology service
  • Leading crisis management responses as needed
  • Co-chairing the College Ethics Committee and maintaining key professional networks

To be successful in this role, you are a skilled psychologist with experience working in a school or education setting . You bring professional maturity, strong interpersonal skills, and an exemplary ability to foster proactive and positive relationships with a variety of staff, parents and students.

Qualifications and experience

  • Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated experience providing counselling and wellbeing support to children and adolescents

  • The Psychology Team Leader will demonstrate strong experience in the provision of more complex case management or crisis intervention situations, ideally with exposure across the R-12 setting

  • A thorough understanding of child development, knowledge of psychoeducational assessment procedures, and experience with evidence -based therapeutic approaches for children and adolescents

  • The Psychology Team Leader will demonstrate experience leading or mentoring other professionals in respect of these approaches

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A commitment to ongoing professional learning and maintaining best practice standards
