About the team

The Utilities Asset Management Team includes about 30 strategic and tactical asset management specialists in 3 different teams guiding sustainable asset management for water and sewer assets within the City. We operate collaboratively to develop our asset management strategy and our forward plan for asset renewals based on business needs, risks and resources. The team will work closely with maintenance teams, operational teams, project delivery, and planning. 

We have fun, support one another, and enjoy the challenge of finding ways to continually improve the way the city manages the assets that provide so many essential and critical services to the community.

About your new role

Ready to lead a dynamic team of 30 asset management experts driving the future of the City's water and wastewater infrastructure? Leading the 3 team leader positions, you'll be at the heart of managing critical assets like pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plants, ensuring they're sustainable and fit for the long haul.

You'll drive the City's journey to asset management excellence by creating and embedding cutting-edge tools, frameworks, and collaborative processes. Your strategic insight will shape smart investment decisions that balance risk and deliver real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Lead the development of balanced strategies that connect asset condition, risk, and performance with renewal planning and budgets.

•    Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, and respect across the team and organisation.

•    Provide strong, visible leadership to mentor and develop a high-performing, values-driven team.

•    Use best practices and asset management frameworks to ensure effective planning, delivery, and ongoing improvement.

•    Deliver expert advice to support strategic decisions and improve asset management outcomes.

•    Drive program management, budget development and stakeholder management for the water and sewerage renewals program. 

•    Prioritise projects within available budgets.

•    Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders and delivery partners to achieve successful project outcomes.

•    Guide long-term planning and investments years) that are transparent, risk-based, and aligned with City goals.

•    Integrate asset management efforts with city-wide planning and key functions.

•    Drive innovation and continuous improvement to create lasting value for the City.

•    Manage program budgets, schedules, and resources, adapting to changing priorities while ensuring commitments are met.

•    Stay ahead of industry trends and regulations to keep the City's asset management future-ready.

We're looking for people who have:


•    A bachelor's degree in engineering with extensive experience in asset management

•    Experience managing complex infrastructure programs

•    Water industry experience is ideal

•    RPEQ or CAMA preferred

•    General construction induction (white / blue) card
