The Truck Driver position is responsible for transporting shipping containers and goods for both North Queensland Customs Services and Townsville Customs and Forwarding Services.
Responsibilities & Duties- Day-to-day sideloader operation.
- Efficient pick-up and delivery from depot, wharf, yard and client premises.
- Operational understanding of port operations and procedures.
- Operate equipment safely at all times in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Good presentation and customer service skills.
- Daily prestart check for vehicle and trailer.
- Maintaining strong relationships with customers.
- Follow procedures and communicate effectively and clearly.
- Any other duties as directed by your Manager.
- Must have a current and valid MSIC Licence card.
- Current and valid Queensland drivers license (HC or higher).
- An excellent driving history.
- Experience in container transport.
- One-to-two years experience in a sideloader role with a strong knowledge of operating a sideloader.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of Townsville and surrounding districts.
- A genuine team player with a proactive and positive approach to their work.
- Highly organised and motivated.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- You are responsible, mature and ethically minded, and have a solid work record.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional time management skills, ability to problem solve and work to tight deadlines.
