Allied Health Assistant – Exercise-Based Primary Care

Employment: Part-time position, with a minimum of21 hours per week, with flexibility in the days and hours.

Rural Fit are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our team. Working under the supervision of an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), you will join a team that is improving health outcomes in regional and rural Australian communities.
This role will support the delivery of high-quality and evidence-based exercise as well as administrative tasks in a primary care health setting.
The position is ideally suited to a recently graduated Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES), or a student studying Exercise and Sports Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology that is looking to gain hands-on experience in a clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and welcoming experience for all clients.
- Maintain the clinic environment to ensure cleanliness, safety and readiness for client appointments.
- Conduct non-clinical observations of pre-employment functional capacity evaluations for apparently healthy populations.
- Assist in the delivery of individual and group exercise programs as prescribed by the supervising AEP.
- Support day-to-day administrative and operational clinic tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Recently graduated AES OR currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of an Exercise and Sports Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology degree is preferred. Students enrolled in the 1st or 2nd year of the respective degrees are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of exercise principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, with a positive attitude and attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn and develop through hands-on experience and guidance from the supervising AEP.
- Demonstrate adaptability and agility in a dynamic environment, responding efficiently and effectively to varying client and clinic needs.
- Australian drivers licence.
