Are you an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a busy, high-energy restaurant environment? Dundee's on the Waterfront is on the lookout for full-time wait staff who are ready to deliver top-tier service in one of Cairns' largest and most iconic waterfront venues - and grow into a Team Leader or Supervisor role.

This role is ideal for someone local who's ready to put down roots and grow with us. We're a large, fast-paced, locally-owned restaurant, and we're looking for someone who's not just after a job, but ready to commit for at least 12 months and step confidently into the next phase of their hospitality career.


About Us

Dundee's on the Waterfront has been part of the Cairns dining scene for nearly 40 years. We're a well-known, locally owned restaurant on the boardwalk at Trinity Inlet and loved by both locals and tourists alike.

We're proud of the warm, down-to-earth service we provide, and we've built a tight-knit team who work hard, back each other up, and genuinely enjoy what they do.


What We're Looking For

We're after someone who already knows their way around a busy restaurant and is confident delivering great service, even when it's flat out. You'll have:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a busy à la carte restaurant
  • Practical skills: Able to confidently carry three plates and handle a drinks tray
  • Product knowledge: Comfortable with wine and beverage service
  • Communication: Clear, friendly, and professional with both guests and colleagues
  • Reliability: Punctual, motivated and consistent in your approach
  • Availability: Able to work weekends and peak service times
  • Attitude: Positive, warm, and genuinely passionate about hospitality
  • Commitment: Willing and able to stay with us for at least 12 months

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest service: Greet and seat guests, take orders, and help guide them through the menu
  • Order management: Deliver food and drinks efficiently, with an eye for quality and presentation
  • Cash handling: Take payments and manage transactions accurately
  • Maintaining standards: Reset tables and keep the dining area clean and inviting throughout your shift

  3. Help train and mentor new team members
  4. Step into a Team Leader role
