Position Summary

A leading energy infrastructure project is seeking a
Senior Civil/Structural Engineer
to support a long-term CO₂ optimization initiative. The role involves working closely with the lead engineer and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across design, fabrication, and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve civil/structural engineering deliverables.
  • Monitor contractor performance and resource allocation.
  • Develop technical solutions and support change management processes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on design principles and standards.
  • Contribute to procurement processes including RFPs, RFQs, and bid evaluations.
  • Review and validate contractor estimates (cost, time, resources).
  • Respond to and approve technical RFIs.
  • Support construction and fabrication teams by resolving technical queries.
  • Apply project management systems and capital stewardship principles.
  • Foster effective communication with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Promote a strong safety and environmental culture.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Have Skills:

  • Extensive experience in civil/structural engineering within the oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards.
  • Proven track record in late-phase design, including:
  • Structural steel and concrete design
  • Civil earthworks
  • Trenching and drainage systems
  • Collaborative and adaptable mindset with strong teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in engineering software such as
    STAAD.Pro
    ,
    Space Gass
    , and
    TEDDS
    .
  • Familiarity with structured project development and execution frameworks.
