About this Position:

Lismore City Council is leading a powerful transformation; and Finance is at the forefront. We are building a future-focused, high performing finance function that doesn't just support the organisation but drives it forward.

The Management Accountant plays a pivotal role in supporting sustainable, evidence-based decision-making across Lismore City Council. By providing expert financial advice, analysis, and insights, you will act as a trusted Business Partner. You will collaborate with departments to deliver real-time support that informs operational decisions and contributes to the financial health of Council.

• Provide financial insights and monthly reports to drive decision-making
• Contribute to budget management, forecasting and risk identification
• Deliver clear, concise, and impactful financial advice to internal stakeholders

What you will need to be successful:

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or business
• Full membership of a recognised professional institute or nearing completion (CA, CPA, IPA or equivalent)
• Advanced financial systems literacy including Microsoft Excel
• Extensive experience in financial and/or management accounting
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines

Full Time: 70 hours a fortnight.

Salary: Salary range from $89,267 to $102,657 per annum, plus superannuation.
