About the Opportunity
As a key member of the Quality Team, the Quality Assurance (QA) Advisor will provide Quality Assurance services within the In-Service Support Business Unit based in Cairns.
What's Involved
- The role of the QA Advisor includes the following activities to support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the deployed Quality Management System (QMS):
- Conduct audits and report on compliance to Quality policies and procedures in line with the Austal Internal Audit Scheule.
- Document quality issues and performance measures for management review.
- Develop corrective actions from root cause analysis activities.
- Assist in the maintenance and deployment of QMS documentation.
- Assist with implementation of Non-Conformance trend analysis and develop QA Alerts as required.
- Support Business Unit Managers by undertaking quality investigations upon request.
Essential
- Diploma or recognised equivalency certification in Quality Assurance, Lean Management, Engineering or Project Management.
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing, supply chain or project management environment.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills.
- Well-developed level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
Desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001, and of working within Quality Management systems as they apply to shipbuilding, defence, oil & gas, supply chain and/or manufacturing.
- Previous industry experience working in a Quality Assurance / Quality Control role.
- Internal auditor training.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Developing analytical, problems solving skills and systematic thinking.
