What's the role?
As a Principal Automation Engineer within the Data Platform Service Practice Team, you will be a strategic leader responsible for shaping and driving the DevOps and SQL Infrastructure vision across multiple platforms and products. This role demands deep technical expertise, architectural foresight, and the ability to influence and mentor senior engineers while collaborating across business and technology domains.
You will lead initiatives that support client onboarding, maintenance, and review processes, and play a pivotal role in digitising the customer journey through scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
What do I need?
- Cloud Platforms: Advanced experience with MS Azure (preferred) and/or AWS, including networking, security, and identity management.
- Infrastructure-as-Code: Mastery of tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Ruby).
- DevOps Toolchains: Proven leadership in implementing and managing toolchains including Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jira, and Chef.
- SQL Infrastructure: Deep knowledge of SQL/PostgreSQL platforms, including performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Containerisation: Expertise in OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms, including deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Enterprise Experience: Demonstrated success in large-scale enterprise environments with complex dependencies and regulatory requirements.
- Security & Compliance: Strong understanding of RBAC, Privilege Access Management, encryption, and secure provisioning practices.
