About the Position
The Manager Information Technology leads the IT and Operational Support function, reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services and managing a team of eight. The role is responsible for delivering strategic and operational outcomes across IT infrastructure, applications, governance, and digital transformation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the execution and evolution of Guide Dogs Queensland's IT strategy and roadmap to ensure secure, scalable, and future-ready technology.
- Acting as a trusted partner to executives and business units, translating organisational needs into effective IT solutions.
- Overseeing IT governance, cyber security, compliance, disaster recovery, and risk management.
- Managing vendor relationships and budgets to ensure value, efficiency, and alignment with organisational priorities.
- Building and developing a high-performing IT team that drives accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Leading technology modernisation, service delivery excellence, and IT-enabled change initiatives that enhance organisational capability and performance.
About the Person
The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science, or a related field, with at least five years' experience in IT management or senior operational roles. You will demonstrate strategic IT leadership, with the ability to design and deliver technology strategies aligned to business needs, while managing risk, governance, and cybersecurity. Strong business acumen and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels is essential, along with proven capability in leading and developing high-performing teams.
Also, you will bring a track record of delivering operational excellence in IT services, combined with a forward-looking mindset that embraces innovation and digital transformation. Experience in not-for-profit or community-based organisations, and formal change management qualifications, will be advantageous. Personally, you will lead with integrity, inclusiveness, and accountability, modelling a commitment to learning, safety, and cross-functional collaboration.
