About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Childcare Centre Director to lead the successful operation of our newly established 84-place early learning service. This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, systems, and standards of a startup centre from the ground up. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, proven leadership in early childhood settings, and a passion for building high-performing teams and nurturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
People & Culture
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of educators and staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture
- Implement performance management systems and staff wellbeing initiatives
- Build strong relationships with families and the wider community
Operations
- Oversee daily centre operations, ensuring smooth delivery of programs and services
- Manage rosters, enrolments, occupancy targets, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with educators to maintain high-quality curriculum and learning outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and feedback loops
Administration
- Manage budgets, payroll, and financial reporting in collaboration with head office or finance team
- Maintain accurate records for enrolments, staffing, and compliance
- Coordinate centre communications, marketing, and stakeholder engagement
- Ensure readiness for audits, assessments, and funding reviews
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
- Lead Quality Improvement Planning (QIP) and prepare for Assessment and Rating
- Maintain policies and procedures aligned with legislative requirements
- Respond to incidents, complaints, and notifications with professionalism and transparency
About You
- Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (Bachelor preferred)
- Proven experience as a Centre Director or senior leadership role in early childhood
- Strong understanding of startup operations, change management, and service establishment
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Sound knowledge of ACECQA standards, workplace instruments, and grant compliance

Pay: $85,000.00 – $108,000.00 per year
