Prescott College Southern is seeking to fill the following position from the beginning of the 2026 school year

  • Secondary Maths Faculty Leader (1.0FTE)

Tenure: Fixed Term Contract 12 January 2026 to 11 December 2026

Seventh-day Adventist Schools (South Australia) Limited is seeking to appoint an experienced Maths teacher who is capable of leading the Maths Faculty. The successful candidate will be required to teach Maths to Years 11 and 12 and may be asked to teach other year levels or subject areas, depending on their skills.

As a dynamic leader and excellent classroom teacher, the right candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the Australian Curriculum and SACE and the ability to model best practice to staff and integrate that into the classroom. This will include an understanding of how to differentiate the curriculum to cater for individual student needs.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the capacity to lead a team, to achieve the goals of the College successfully. The ability to connect with students from a range of backgrounds and abilities, to help them become engaged learners and achieve success at their level, is an important component of this role.

Prescott College Southern is located 24km south of the Adelaide CBD.  The school has an enrolment of approximately 720 students from Foundation to Year 12. The successful applicant will have the following:

  • a sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and SACE as it relates to the curriculum area outlined above
  • A demonstrated track record of success
  • a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith
  • clear communication with students, colleagues and the wider community regarding educational and welfare issues
  • an appropriate tertiary education degree
  • registration with the Teacher Registration Board of South Australia (prior to commencement)
  • the ability to meet and maintain the criteria of the Australia Professional Standards for Teachers at the proficient level according to legislation

Desirable Characteristics

  • Experience leading a faculty in a secondary school setting
  • A practical understanding of SEQTA as a learning management system
  • A willingness to contribute to a variety of areas of school life
