At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, we are connecting South Australia to keep our State moving. We are responsible for delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transformative transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city's public transport network.
Our work encompasses every part of our State; from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community.
We value diversity and inclusion and foster an environment of collaboration, flexibility, and support for our people.
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about keeping South Australia's transport network safe, reliable and running smoothly? This is your chance to make a real difference in your community.
We're looking for motivated problem-solvers who enjoy variety in their work and building strong relationships with contractors, service providers and stakeholders. In this role, you'll play a vital part in planning, scoping and scheduling maintenance works, using your local knowledge to contribute to state-wide programs, and ensuring high safety and performance standards are met. You'll also be the go-to person for evaluating contractor performance, coordinating responses to unexpected events, and helping keep our essential infrastructure in top condition.
Join us and you'll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, problem-solving and making a tangible impact every day.
About You
You're a practical problem-solver who thrives on variety and enjoys seeing your work make a visible difference in the community. You take pride in building strong working relationships and keeping things running smoothly - even when the unexpected happens.

- Project management experience and a sound understanding of road maintenance or infrastructure, including the issues, risks, trends and directions in the field.
- Experience developing maintenance programs and working closely with contractors to deliver them.
- Knowledge of contractor conformance requirements, performance and operational standards, and safety and environmental plans and specifications.
- An understanding of quality and risk management principles, relevant legislation, and regulations that affect this work.
You're confident working under limited direction, planning and coordinating technical operations, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and making well-informed decisions. Your interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills allow you to give clear, concise advice, negotiate effectively, and resolve conflicts. Above all, you're committed to delivering excellent outcomes for customers, stakeholders and the community.
