CAAPS is seeking a dedicated Family Support Worker to provide intensive, culturally affirming support to families with children aged 0–18 years. This is a unique opportunity to work in partnership with families referred by the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (DTFHC), helping them build nurturing environments and maintain family unity.

About You:

  • You'll bring a mix of professional experience, cultural understanding, and a deep commitment to family wellbeing. You have:
  • Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, or a related field (or working toward them)
  • Experience supporting high-risk families using trauma-informed, culturally safe approaches
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and community networks
  • Willingness to conduct home visits and provide hands-on support
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and ICT skills
  • Commitment to child safety, WHS, and continuous improvement
