About the Role

Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their potential? Mai-Wel is seeking a Youth Support Mentor to join our Transition to Work (TTW) team. This role provides intensive one-on-one support to jobseekers aged 15–25, helping them build skills, overcome barriers, and achieve their employment or education goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide vocational guidance tailored to participants' career and education aspirations.

  • Support young people to identify and implement their goals through a Job Plan.

  • Assess skills, capabilities, and barriers, and connect participants with specialist support services.

  • Facilitate employability workshops, individual and group coaching sessions.

  • Support participants with job search activities, volunteering opportunities, and mentoring.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, training providers, and community services.

  • Maintain accurate participant records and meet performance and compliance requirements.



Skills And Experiences

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in coaching, mentoring, or supporting others to build capacity.

  • Skilled in caseload management, with the ability to balance participant needs and program outcomes.

  • Confident with administration, reporting, and using digital systems.

  • A strong communicator who can build trust, motivate, and inspire young people.

  • Adaptable, organised, and able to maintain high professional work standards.

Essential:

  • Current driver's licence.

  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, or supporting young people.
