Youth Complex Mental Health Clinician
Samaritans Youth Complex Mental Health Team, Rural Young Minds, provides support to young people between the ages of 12-25 in the Mid-North Coast, Hunter & Upper-Hunter rural regions.
- Fixed Term, Part Time role until 28th May 2026
- 32 hours per week
- Cessnock base with outreach to Muswellbrook and Singleton
The Opportunity:
Join us as we work together in a multidisciplinary environment, offering clinical therapeutic interventions and case coordination services to young individuals aged Here, you'll play a key role in supporting and empowering those at risk of developing severe mental illness.
The role supports integrated access to primary health care, specialist mental health care, family support, educational/vocational engagement and psychological therapies.

Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary Degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or similar.
- Comprehensive understanding of mental health issues affecting young people, their families and carers including best treatment options.
- Demonstrated extensive experience managing clients with complex mental health needs.
- Ability to effectively engage with young people, families and carers who are at risk of developing severe mental health issues.
- Advanced relationship building skills, able to develop networks with a range of government, community and corporate stakeholders.
- Current Driver's License
Desirable
- Membership to appropriate body e.g AHPRA, AASW, PACFA. (If applicable)
- Minimum 2 years' demonstrated experience delivering therapeutic intervention/counselling.
The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, National Criminal History Check, First aid & CPR certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
