About the role
The Superintendent Logistics and Warehouse is responsible for the safe and efficient management of road, rail, warehousing, waste management, and cleaning services at Northparkes Operations. This role ensures the effective coordination of concentrate transport from site to port, while overseeing inventory, warehousing, and site service contracts to support operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and managing concentrate transport from the mine site to the port, aligning site production tonnage with scheduled transport capacity.
- Managing operational and finance budgets to support road, rail, and port operations contracts, including handling variations as required.
- Negotiating, developing, operating, and maintaining logistics contracts to minimise costs, reduce risks, and ensure operational flexibility.
- Leading warehouse, repairable spares, and inventory operations by solving problems and making decisions using established procedures.
- Ensuring efficient and compliant storage and management of critical spares and consumable goods across Northparkes Operations.
- Managing site waste disposal contracts while maximising recycling efforts and increasing value from scrap or excess materials.
- Coordinating cleaning services to maintain site standards and support operational needs.
- Supporting concentrate transport planning to meet production schedules and minimise cost impacts while aligning with finance cash flow targets.
About you
You will bring a tertiary qualification in logistics or a related field, along with a Diploma in Management and experience in project management. You will have previous experience in road or rail logistics and in contracts management. You must be confident managing concentrate inventories, transport contracts, and warehouse operations. Your leadership, problem solving, and planning skills will be key to your success, along with your ability to communicate clearly and influence decision making. Experience with SAP/ERP systems is highly regarded and high level of competency with Microsoft Office is essential.
