We're seeking an Architectural Designer / Draftsperson who loves translating client briefs and creative ideas into fully compliant, creative yet buildable and practical project solutions.

You'll bridge the gap between initial concept and construction, developing design briefs, refining client scope and design concept details, through to producing clear, coordinated documentation that realises each client's vision and provides the project team with everything required to accurately and efficiently cost and build the project.

You'll work closely with project management teams, clients, suppliers and sub-contractors and contribute your technical insight across all stages of the design and construction / fit-out stages. You'll interpret client briefs, contribute to creative solutions, and translate them into precise technical documentation.

You'll also collaborate closely with project managers to prepare tender responses, develop design intent, and resolve details with clarity and intent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in client consultations, developing and refining design briefs and concept layouts.
  • Create design documentation in Revit, including full building drawing sets and specific detailed documentation.
  • Support design intent through detailed drawings that balance form, function and constructability.
  • Acting as a technical design resource between clients, project managers, and the broader team.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers and other administrative staff to respond to tenders, RFIs, and engage in value-engineering processes as required.
  • Bring a design-minded approach to driving selections for materials, finishes and detailing for commercial interiors.
  • Act as a bridge between creative vision and practical execution across multiple project stages.

What you will bring to the position:

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial fit-outs and/or interior design and construction documentation.
  • Advanced Revit proficiency and solid understanding of CAD systems.
  • Strong sense of design composition, detailing and appropriate material selections.
  • Familiarity with design codes, joinery documentation, and construction methodology in commercial environments.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate design intent clearly across diverse teams.
  • A keen eye for detail, proportion and finish quality.
  • Collaborative attitude and enthusiasm for innovative design outcomes.

About You:

  • 3+ years' experience in drafting / technical design for commercial interiors, fit-outs or similar architectural documentation.
  • Qualification in Building Design, Architecture, or Interior Design preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Australian Standards, NCC/BCA and Queensland design codes and to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements.
  • Advanced Revit proficiency and strong architectural drawing capability.
  • An eye for detail and an appreciation for design quality and spatial experience.
  • Confident working from client briefing through to final documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience producing joinery drawings, partitions, ceilings or interior detailing experience highly regarded.
  • Experience with cost estimation or understanding cost implications of design changes highly regarded.

Why Join Us:

  • Friendly, easy going and supportive work-culture with a focus on creative collaboration.
  • Diverse project portfolio in commercial interiors and fit-outs as well as other larger scale projects that can also require external works design and drafting support.
  • Opportunity to actively contribute from inception to completion and work across both the creative and technical / delivery stages of projects.
  • In office workspace, all IT equipment and software provided, standard business hours Monday-Friday, with some flexibility around managing workload, full-time preferred but part-time also considered.
