We're looking for a Portfolio Manager to coordinate work allocation and lead a group of engineers across multiple teams. You'll focus on matching skills to demand, supporting career growth, and ensuring sustainable delivery practices. This is a people leadership role with strong portfolio coordination responsibilities—not a coding role and not an executive position.

What you'll do

• Lead workforce orchestration across multiple engineering teams, ensuring smooth allocation of work.
• Maintain a rolling capacity and skills inventory to support planning and delivery.
• Assign engineers to projects with clear timelines and minimal disruption.
• Coordinate AUIN handovers and ensure sustainable utilisation.
• Manage and coach engineers, supporting performance and career development.
• Drive onboarding quality and team engagement initiatives.
• Enforce process guardrails and publish weekly operational metrics.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve conflicts and improve delivery flow.

What makes you a great fit

• Experience managing engineers or technical professionals—not just project teams.
• Strong stakeholder management across delivery, product, and vendor teams.
• Skilled in capacity planning, conflict resolution, and transparent communication.
• Familiarity with engineering lifecycles (software, platform, SRE) and delivery practices.
• Comfortable using scheduling and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Planview).
• Ability to uphold SLAs and quality gates for internal and external engineers.
• Commitment to inclusive leadership and sustainable team culture.
• Continuous improvement mindset with bias-aware decision-making.
