In this Agnew or St Ives-based role, you shall facilitate the optimal extraction of gold ore from mining operations through the provision of comprehensive underground mine planning, design, evaluation, and scheduling that achieves the requirements of the business in alignment with EHS standards.

What You'll Do:

Assist the Unit Manager: Technical Services to set strategic directions and short-to-mid-term production targetsEnsure the business can make informed decisions by identifying, planning, and communicating extraction strategies, critical path, and high-risk areas as part of an iterative scenario planning processCreate, support, and manage underground short to medium term mine design, scheduling and evaluation work, including design of all aspects of an underground mine including ventilation, backfill, and other infrastructureAssist in the preparation of budget plans and schedulesProduce accurate and timely, quarterly and monthly schedules aligned to the Business Plan and LoM StrategyManage, support, and help grow planning team members for future successContinually challenge and optimise systems, processes, and practices to identify improvement areasCoach and collaborate with your team and other operational departments to ensure the planning process delivers on operational requirements

Who Are We Looking For?

An autonomous, driven, and safety-conscious individual who is willing to share knowledge with othersBachelor's degree in mining engineering, additional possession of a First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency is desirable.Demonstrated experience in managing/leading a teamExtensive underground mining experience with excellent knowledge in the fields of production, ventilation, projects, paste fill, planning and scheduling.High level of skills displayed in  Desik CAD, Deswik SO and Deswik IS.Ability to share and grow within the team at Gold Fields
