Introduction

BWE Drilling is a growing Australian drilling services business providing blast-hole, water-well and exploration drilling solutions to the mining and resources sector. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to take responsibility for the largest business unit within the group.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is critical to providing financial leadership, commercial insight and operational support across the business.



Description

The Role

This position has responsibility for all aspects of accounting and financial performance for the group's largest operating business unit. You will work closely with operational leaders, acting as a trusted finance partner while also supporting selected group-level finance functions.

While the role does not initially have direct reports, it includes elements of team leadership and mentoring and offers the opportunity to grow into a broader leadership position as the business evolves.

Key responsibilities include:

End-to-end management accounting for a major business unitMonthly management reporting, analysis and commentaryAnnual budgeting and periodic forecastingCash-flow management at both business-unit and group levelJob, contract and operational performance analysisBAS preparation and submissionPreparation of statutory financial statements for an unlisted entityPartnering with operational teams to support commercial decision-makingDriving process improvements to improve efficiency and speed of reportingContributing to broader group financial performance and initiatives

Required Experience & Skills

Proven experience in the mining services or contracting sectorStrong management accounting backgroundVery good working knowledge of XeroBAS preparation and compliance experienceBudgeting and forecasting experienceExperience preparing statutory financial statements for an unlisted entityCash-flow management experience (business unit and group)

Qualifications

CA or CPA qualifiedPrevious management accounting roles within mining services or contracting businesses
