Lead Layout Designer

We are proud to be partnering with Stantec – Energy & Resources to deliver the study for a world-class gold project in Southeast Asia. Stantec are assembling a highly skilled team across Australia to deliver this challenging assignment for their international client.

Resourcing this study from Australia reflects Stantec's strategy to increase its focus on major projects, strengthening capability in the local resources sector while contributing to global delivery. As a flagship project, its successful outcome will provide strong visibility within Stantec and open doors to future opportunities, both in Australia and across their global network.

About the Project 

This large-scale greenfield development is progressing through its Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS), with early works and execution phases to follow.

The project presents the complexities typical of major gold and copper developments in the region:

Challenging terrain and climate, requiring robust planning for bulk earthworks and logisticsRemote location, with procurement of critical items and infrastructure central to study successComplex supply chains, with equipment and materials to be sourced internationally across Asia, Europe, and ChinaLocal regulatory frameworks, where accurate study inputs and vendor engagement are critical to project approvals

About the Role

As a Lead Layout Designer, you will lead and coordinate the development of layout design deliverables across all disciplines. Responsibilities include:

Producing detailed layout drawings and models for the whole processing plant

 Developing and refining layouts during feasibility, concept, and detailed design phases

 Coordinating layout changes, version control, and revision updates across disciplines

 Working collaboratively with engineers, and other design disciplines, and technical disciplines to maintain consistency in layout approach

 Ensuring layout designs satisfy, safety, accessibility, constructability, and regulatory requirements

 

About You



We are seeking Layout Designers with:

Strong experience in layout design for large mining processing plantsProven experience working on mineral studies such as gold or copperHands‐on proficiency with 2d and 3D layout/modeling software in AutoCAD and or MicroStation.Capability to interpret design inputs into coherent and constructable layoutsExperience progressing layouts through feasibility to detailed design phasesExcellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to liaise across multiple offices and disciplinesA detail‐oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple layout revisions and version control

 

Roster & Conditions

Monday to Friday, based in Perth CBD or Brisbane CBDHybrid work options – up to 1-day WFH per weekHours: 40 per week plus approved overtime
