Are you ready to shape the future of connectivity and innovation? We're looking for a dynamic Product Technologist to join our team and bring Telstra's advanced network capabilities to life. In this customer-facing, ecosystem-driven role, you'll engage directly with strategic partners, developer communities, and industry collaborators, building trust and driving adoption through hands-on experimentation and real-world applications.
You'll play a key role in developer enablement initiatives from hackathons and co-creation workshops to API onboarding at Muru-D, hyperscaler innovation hubs, customer sites, and universities. Your presence and expertise will accelerate the adoption of Network-as-a-Product (NaaP) capabilities, enabling next-generation solutions across IoT, AI/ML, and digital platforms.
As part of a high-performing, motivated team, you'll contribute to commercialising new technologies, enhancing Telstra's product strategies, and reinforcing our reputation as a globally innovative tech leader. Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned work tasks, and leverage your knowledge and practical experience to quickly and efficiently create high quality output within agreed delivery timeframes
- Apply your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to help evaluate and resolve key impediments to the evolution of the technology product portfolio
- Support team members to perform analysis, specification and the design of emerging and advanced technologies
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within your team to help Telstra deliver great customer experiences
- Collaborate with team members to provide support in the design of innovative product roadmaps to create competitive differentiation, growth, cost savings, and customer service improvements
About you
To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in:
- An understanding of the product lifecycle, including development, simplification, and exit phases. An awareness of product economics balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and commercial viability and commercial and financial principles, including the ability to assess product value, interpret cost-benefit trade-offs, and contribute to discussions around budgeting and return on investment (ROI).
- Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, NodeJS, Java, C#) with a strong ability to quickly learn and apply new languages and frameworks.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable code and contributing to production-level applications.
- Familiarity with software design principles and version control using Git.
