Are you ready to take ownership of a key role that keeps our operations running smoothly and safely? Hastings Deering is looking for a proactive and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to join our high-performing team in Mackay.

In this exciting role, you'll be the driving force behind the maintenance and optimisation of our facilities—ensuring everything runs like a well-oiled machine. You'll work closely with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams to maintain the quality, safety, and efficiency of our assets.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Building strong, positive relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits of our business centres, logging any defects using our Maintenance Service Centre software.
  • Supporting the launch and delivery of new initiatives that maximise the return on our facilities investment.
  • Monitoring scheduled maintenance activities to ensure we meet regulatory compliance and keep our people and workplaces safe.
  • Coordinating contractors for essential repairs and services, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Minimising unscheduled breakdowns by ensuring proactive maintenance of equipment and plant operations.
  • Overseeing contractor performance to ensure work is completed on time, on spec, and to a high standard.
  • Managing and maintaining our Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for all facilities-related activities.
  • Providing feedback and solutions to help us exceed key performance targets in the Facilities team.

About You

A successful teammate will have experience in:  

  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Previous experience in a facilities, property, or maintenance coordination role
  • Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) practices and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business
  • Ability to manage competing demands
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Trades based background
