About the Opportunity
An upcoming national wellbeing program will deliver evidence-informed, trauma-aware psychological and mindfulness-based supports to individuals and families across Australia. The initiative will be delivered online through secure digital platforms, ensuring accessibility for participants in metropolitan, rural, and remote areas.
We are seeking to pre-identify a qualified Program Clinical Lead for appointment upon successful contract award. The position provides clinical oversight, program governance, and quality assurance for all components of the program, ensuring alignment with contemporary psychological practice, trauma-informed principles, and ethical standards.
Position Purpose
The Program Clinical Lead is responsible for providing strategic clinical leadership and oversight throughout all phases of program design, delivery, and evaluation. This role ensures that all clinical activities are safe, evidence-based, and aligned with relevant professional, ethical, and legislative frameworks.
The position will also oversee supervision of facilitators, risk management, continuous improvement, and collaboration with research and evaluation partners to measure participant outcomes and program effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor the program's Clinical Governance Framework.
- Ensure participant screening, risk assessment, and escalation processes are safe and consistent with best practice.
- Provide expert advice on ethical and clinical safety matters.
- Maintain compliance with all professional and legal requirements.
- Contribute to the design and review of all clinical and therapeutic program materials.
- Ensure interventions and content reflect trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and inclusive practices.
- Support adaptation of materials for digital or blended delivery.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and case consultation for program facilitators and peer mentors.
- Build a supportive, reflective clinical culture within the delivery team.
- Guide professional development aligned with trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Work collaboratively with program management, research partners, and external stakeholders to ensure clinical integrity and quality assurance.
- Participate in governance meetings, reporting processes, and program reviews.
- Support the co-design and implementation of the program's evaluation framework.
- Contribute to data interpretation and outcome analysis.
- Identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement and innovation.
Selection Criteria
- University level qualification in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Counselling Psychology.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision and governance within a multi-disciplinary or program setting.
- Sound understanding of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based care.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, with experience in interpreting clinical data and outcomes.
- Experience working with veteran, emergency service, or high-risk client populations.
- Familiarity with government or not-for-profit program reporting frameworks.
- Experience in program evaluation, quality improvement, or applied research.
- Knowledge of digital delivery platforms or online group facilitation environments.
Additional Information
- Appointment is subject to program contract award. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted once the funding outcome is confirmed.
- Successful applicants will require a National Police Clearance and Working with Vulnerable People Check prior to commencement.
- The role is offered as a Full-Time Fixed Term Contract (3 years) with potential for extension.
