Do you want to nourish little explorers and be part of a supportive team?

Here at Little Bright Explorers, our kitchen is the heart of our Como centre. We believe that delicious, healthy food is a key part of every child's learning and development. We're looking for a passionate and creative Cook to join our family and help us inspire a lifelong love of healthy food in the children we care for.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 5-6 hours a day. The role is available for an immediate start for the right candidate, with the opportunity for a full-time role for those who hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Preparing and cooking nutritious and delicious meals and snacks for our children, catering to all ages.
  • Planning seasonal menus in consultation with our team and families.
  • Managing stock and ordering supplies efficiently while adhering to a budget.
  • Ensuring the kitchen and all food preparation areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Catering to a variety of special dietary requirements and allergies.

What We're Looking For:
  • A genuine passion for cooking and a love of working with children.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a childcare or hospitality setting.
  • A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
